Discouragement can cause us to give up looking at the harvest. It can also cause us to give up planting. Or watering. These are also tasks for God's workers: planting, watering, harvesting. God gives the increase but the workers do their work too.

I suppose ploughing is part of it too. Getting the soil ready to receive the seed.

In the paddocks that God has given you to work, some relationships will involve getting the soil ready. Others seeding the word bit by bit. Others you will be watering. And praying that God will make it grow. Some however will be stony ground. Not yet interested at all. Some will be like blackberry bushes. Hostile.

It is God's farm. It is his seed and his soil. We workers just need to get on with the different jobs he has entrusted us with. And we could pray the prayer Jesus urged his disciples to pray: pray the Lord of the harvest to send the workers out. No use sitting under the gum tree all day.
