You can imagine that. Someone who isn’t used to church might be quite apprehensive about what to do and how to behave if they went to a church service. What are the rules? Who can go? Do you have to say anything? What to wear? Do you have to sing?

On the other hand some who attend church haven’t thought that inviting others  was one of the reasons they go. Others have a “cringe factor” in their mind. “I don’t really like this, so my friend won’t either.”  Fair enough, but more than likely the friend will see things quite differently.

Others say, “I’ve tried this before and only got negative reactions.”  So?

Being an inviting church is connected to being a confident church. It is not the same as being a friendly church, although it is related to being a befriending church – a quite different idea.

It is a long while till Back to Church Sunday (September I think). So what about Easter? Actually Good Friday and Easter.   These are famous days and very suitable for a friend to join you.

Or next Sunday, or any Sunday. But who to invite? Someone you would like to join you.
