One purpose was to make the Father known. To reveal what had always been hidden: the true nature of God himself.

Another purpose was to act for the human race as its representative. To deal with its inner corruption and the judgment of death that continue to hang over it. He came to die for the humans, in their place, as their representative, in order to raise them to a new life where sin and death no longer ruled.

That is where we are heading now. Have you spotted any Easter eggs in the shops yet? Easter is early this year. So we will start in a week or so to apply our hearts and minds again to this other great event: the death and resurrection of the Lord  Jesus.

I urge you to take time to read, think, ponder, study, question, pray and apply these great truths to your heart, mind and body.

Paul thought that it was this great message of the death of Christ that was the demonstration in practice of the power of God to save humans. There is nothing in the New Testament about gradual moral reformation. There is much about death and resurrection. About new birth from above. About repentance from useless ways of life, to loving and serving the true God.

The change, the transformation happens by the work of the Spirit as we hear, grasp, receive and believe the message of the death of Jesus for our sins. That is what keeps on changing us, and others.

I urge you to get your fill of this great theme between now and Easter.
