Christ the King has many people who pray. We see it at church, in Bible study groups, at Mainly Music and on Wednesday mornings.  Most of it we don’t see. Most of it happens in the private space Jesus encouraged us to enter.  We know there are lots of “praying rooms” because of the way people talk. And especially because of the way God is at work.

Not that he needs our prayers to act. He is always the first to act. But he has told us to pray. He has promised to hear our prayers.  He really wants us to speak to him – not just with requests but also with thanks and praise.

It is the mark of the healthy church. It is the mark of the healthy disciple that they keep on praying and don’t give.

Don’t give up praying.
